Rahu Ketu Transit 2026–2028: Three Phases, Two Key Windows, and What They Mean for Every Rashi
On 25 November 2026, Rahu leaves Aquarius and enters Capricorn. On the same day, Ketu leaves Leo and enters Cancer. They will stay on this axis for about 18 months, until around June 2028. (I follow the True Node. Panchangs using the Mean Node give 5 December. I’ve explained the difference here.)
You will find hundreds of articles telling you whether this transit is “good” or “bad” for your rashi. I want to do something different. In 30 years of practice, I have never seen an 18-month transit that behaves the same way from the first month to the last. Rahu and Ketu move through different nakshatras. Other planets come and go and change the picture around them. Some months open doors. Some months test you.
So instead of one verdict for 18 months, this guide gives you a map. It shows the three phases this transit moves through, with their dates. It marks the windows when the sky is on your side and the windows when you need to hold steady. And it explains, rashi by rashi, how to use each one.
Let me say one thing clearly at the start. Rahu and Ketu don’t come to punish anyone. They come to move us. Rahu pushes us toward what we hunger for. Ketu pulls us away from what we’ve outgrown. The people who suffer most in these transits are usually the ones who fight the movement. The ones who understand it often look back on these 18 months as a turning point.
The question this transit asks: work or home?
Rahu and Ketu always sit exactly opposite each other, so the real subject of any nodal transit is the pair of signs they occupy. This time it is Capricorn and Cancer, and the question between them is one every Indian family knows well.
Capricorn is Saturn’s sign. It is karma in the most practical sense: work, duty, position, government, the long climb up a ladder. Cancer is the Moon’s sign: home, mother, emotional security, the place you belong. Rahu in Capricorn makes us hungry for achievement and recognition. Ketu in Cancer quietly loosens our attachment to home and the comfort of the familiar.
So for 18 months, many of us will feel pulled between the office and the family, between ambition and belonging. Some will take a job in another city. Some will feel strangely restless in a perfectly good home. Some will finally choose career over comfort, or comfort over a career that has stopped feeding them. None of these choices is wrong. The transit simply makes the question impossible to ignore.
Why Saturn and the Moon hold the key
Rahu and Ketu have no signs of their own, so they behave like tenants. Their results depend heavily on the condition of their landlords. Here is something I rarely see discussed.
Rahu’s landlord is Saturn, and Saturn’s own condition will change sharply during this transit. Until June 2027, Saturn sits in Pisces, a comfortable sign. From June to October 2027, it enters Aries, where it is debilitated. Then it returns to Pisces, and enters Aries again in February 2028. When the landlord is weak, the tenant behaves as he pleases. So expect Rahu’s restlessness, especially around work and authority, to rise noticeably whenever Saturn is in Aries.
Ketu’s landlord is the Moon, which changes sign every two and a half days. So Ketu’s effects come in a monthly rhythm. On the days the Moon passes through Cancer or Capricorn and meets one of the nodes, many people feel more emotional, detached or unsettled. And when the Sun reaches this axis, in roughly January–February and July–August 2027, we enter eclipse seasons on these very signs. Those are the months the transit speaks loudest.

Three phases, not one transit
Most transit articles treat 18 months as one block. But Rahu moves backwards through three nakshatras of Capricorn, and each nakshatra lord changes its flavour. Ketu, meanwhile, moves through three nakshatras of Cancer. Here is the map. The dates are approximate, because the True Node wobbles a little, but they’re close enough to plan around.
| Phase | Approx. dates | Rahu in | Ketu in | Character |
| One | 25 Nov 2026 – late Mar 2027 | Dhanishta (Mars) | Ashlesha (Mercury) | Fast, bold, competitive |
| Two | Late Mar 2027 – early Dec 2027 | Shravana (Moon) | Ashlesha, then Pushya (Saturn) from about Aug 2027 | The mind, learning, public opinion |
| Three | Early Dec 2027 – Jun 2028 | Uttarashadha (Sun) | Pushya, then Punarvasu (Jupiter) from about Apr 2028 | Authority, recognition, homecoming |
Phase one: the drumbeat. Dhanishta is ruled by Mars and symbolised by a drum. With Rahu here, the transit starts fast. Ambition sharpens, competition heats up, and people make bold moves around work and property.
Meanwhile, Ketu sits in Ashlesha, the serpent’s nakshatra, ruled by Mercury. Hidden family matters surface, intuition becomes sharp, and many people finally walk away from emotional entanglements that were draining them. This is the phase to start things, but with your eyes open.
Phase two: the listening. Shravana means “hearing.” It is the nakshatra of learning, of listening before acting, and it is ruled by the Moon. Notice what this means: for most of 2027, Rahu sits in the Moon’s nakshatra while Ketu sits in the Moon’s sign. This middle phase is deeply about the mind. Education, media, reputation and public opinion all become charged. People who listen, study and reflect in this phase do very well. People who react impulsively tend to regret it.
From around August, Ketu moves into Pushya, the most nourishing nakshatra of the zodiac, and the theme at home shifts from untangling to quiet, dutiful care.
Phase three: the final victory. Uttarashadha, ruled by the Sun, is literally “the later victory”: the win that comes to those who held to their principles. With Rahu here, matters of authority, government, recognition and the father come forward. Those who worked honestly through the first two phases often see their reward in this one. And in the last weeks, Ketu reaches Punarvasu, Jupiter’s nakshatra of return and renewal. The transit ends with a homecoming.
The windows that matter most
If you remember one thing from this guide, let it be this section. Two slow planets will interact directly with the Rahu–Ketu axis during this transit, and they create windows that apply to every rashi.
The Jupiter window: late January to late June 2027
From about 25 January to 26 June 2027, Jupiter moves back into Cancer. For these five months, it sits together with Ketu, and from there its full 7th aspect falls on Capricorn, directly on Rahu.
This is the most protected stretch of the whole transit. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom and grace, and here it touches both nodes at once: its presence with Ketu, its gaze on Rahu. In practical terms, the house where Rahu sits in your chart gets Jupiter’s guidance, and the house where Ketu sits gets Jupiter’s company.
So whatever this transit is stirring in your life- a career move, a property decision, a relationship question, a health matter- this is the window to act on it. Decisions made with Jupiter watching are usually decisions you don’t regret.
The Saturn windows: June to October 2027, and February to June 2028
From about 3 June to 20 October 2027, Saturn enters Aries, where it is debilitated. From Aries, Saturn’s 10th aspect falls on Capricorn, right on Rahu. Saturn returns to Aries in February 2028, and the same aspect repeats until Rahu leaves Capricorn.
Think about what this means. Saturn is Rahu’s landlord. During these months, a weakened landlord stares directly at his tenant in his own house. I expect these to be the most pressured stretches of the transit. Delays, frustration with authority, and a sense of working hard without enough reward are common signs.
But realistic doesn’t mean fearful. Saturn’s pressure is never random. It falls on whatever is built carelessly. Commitments made honestly in the Jupiter window tend to hold firm in the Saturn window. So the simplest strategy I can give anyone is this: build in the first half of 2027, protect and consolidate from June.
Notice also that the two windows overlap for about three weeks in June 2027. That handover month deserves care. Finish what you started under Jupiter before Saturn’s gaze arrives.
Who will feel it most?
Every rashi is touched by this transit, but not equally. Four groups of people will feel it far more than the rest.
Those in Rahu’s or Ketu’s cycle over the Moon. Just as Saturn’s Sade Sati covers the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from the Moon, Rahu and Ketu create their own four-and-a-half-year cycles over the Moon, running backwards. From 25 November, Sagittarius enters Rahu’s cycle, Capricorn reaches its peak, Aquarius moves into its final phase, and Pisces walks out. Ketu’s cycle does the same for Gemini (beginning), Cancer (peak) and Leo (final phase), while Virgo walks out.
Those with planets in Capricorn or Cancer. If your Moon, lagna, Sun or any personal planet sits in either sign, the nodes will pass over it during these 18 months. The months when they cross within a few degrees of that planet are the most intense, much more than the house-level reading suggests.
Those running a Rahu or Ketu dasha. When the dasha and the transit speak with one voice, the effect multiplies. If you’re in Rahu Mahadasha or antardasha, read my article on Rahu Mahadasha alongside this one.
Those running a Saturn or Moon dasha. This one is rarely mentioned. Saturn and the Moon are the landlords of this transit. If either is your dasha lord right now, the nodes are effectively working through the planet that runs your life at the moment.
What it means for your rashi
Read this for your Moon sign, and if you know it, your lagna or ascendant too. Each section links to a full guide for that rashi with nakshatra-level timing.
Aries (Mesh): Rahu in the 10th, Ketu in the 4th
This is a career transit for you, and potentially a very strong one. Rahu in the 10th pushes you toward bigger roles, more visibility and sometimes a new field altogether. The cost is felt at home: Ketu in the 4th can bring distance from family, concern about your mother, or a property matter that drags on.
Your timing is unusually clear. The Jupiter window (January–June 2027) blesses both houses at once, the 4th by Jupiter’s presence and the 10th by its gaze. Make your career move and settle your home decisions then. From June, Saturn enters your own sign and looks at your 10th house, so the second half of 2027 asks for consolidation, not expansion. Taurus (Vrishabh): Rahu in the 9th, Ketu in the 3rd
Rahu in the 9th questions what you believe: your faith, your guru, your father’s views, the philosophy you were raised with. Many of you will want to travel far, study something unconventional, or change your spiritual path. Ketu in the 3rd gives quiet courage. You’ll stop needing approval.
Use the Jupiter window for higher studies, pilgrimage or finding a genuine teacher. Then prepare yourself. When Saturn enters Aries in June 2027, it moves into your 12th house. Your Saturn Sade Sati begins, even as Saturn looks at your 9th. Look after your father’s health and your own sleep in that stretch. Full Taurus guide →
Gemini (Mithun): Rahu in the 8th, Ketu in the 2nd
Realistically, this asks for care. Rahu in the 8th brings the unexpected, and Ketu in your 2nd house begins Ketu’s cycle over your Moon, touching savings, family and speech. Read contracts twice, don’t lend money to relatives, and don’t ignore small health signals. The gifts of the 8th are real too: research ability, interest in astrology and the occult, and sometimes money through inheritance or insurance.
The Jupiter window is your protection. Jupiter sits with Ketu in your 2nd and looks at your 8th, so that is the time for medical procedures, insurance and joint-finance decisions. From June, Saturn moves into your 11th house, which helps income, but its 3rd aspect falls on your own sign, so pace yourself. Full Gemini guide →
Cancer (Kark): Ketu in the 1st, Rahu in the 7th
Ketu on your Moon is the peak of Ketu’s cycle for you. Expect a quieter, more inward version of yourself. Old interests may fade, and you’ll ask deep questions about who you are and what you really want. Rahu in the 7th puts the spotlight on marriage and partnerships, sometimes bringing someone from a very different background into your life.
You have something no other rashi has. From January to June 2027, Jupiter returns to your sign, exalted, and sits right beside Ketu. Your sign holds the most protective planet in its strongest dignity, exactly when Ketu is testing you most. Those five months can be profoundly healing and spiritually rich. From June, Saturn’s gaze falls on your 7th house, so give your marriage and business partnerships extra patience in the second half of 2027. Full Cancer guide →
Leo (Simha): Rahu in the 6th, Ketu in the 12th
Leo, you’ve earned this. Ketu has spent eighteen months on your Moon, and many of you felt invisible and unsure of yourselves. It now moves to your 12th house, the final phase of its cycle, and Rahu enters your 6th, one of its strongest positions. Competitors weaken, debts become manageable, and health improves through discipline.
Jupiter enters your sign on 31 October, before the nodes even move, and returns to it from late June 2027. In between, from January to June, it sits with Ketu in your 12th: a beautiful window for spiritual practice, foreign travel or a retreat. Saturn’s dhaiya over your 8th house eases from June 2027, when Saturn moves into your 9th and looks at your 6th. That rewards hard work against competition. Full Leo guide →
Virgo (Kanya): Rahu in the 5th, Ketu in the 11th
Rahu in the 5th makes love, children, studies and speculation intense. The greatest risk is the market: Rahu here makes quick profits look easy. Ketu in the 11th brings gains quietly, and you may drift from social circles you’ve outgrown. You also walk out of Ketu’s cycle over your Moon, which many of you will feel as relief.
The Jupiter window is good for your children’s education and long-term investments, since Jupiter sits in your 11th and looks at your 5th. But be realistic about June 2027 onward. Saturn moves into your 8th house, beginning your Ashtam Shani dhaiya, and its gaze falls on the same 5th house where Rahu sits. Avoid speculation entirely in that stretch. Full Virgo guide →
Libra (Tula): Rahu in the 4th, Ketu in the 10th
Home is where Rahu settles for you: a bigger house, a new vehicle, a move to another city, or simply restlessness in a home that is perfectly fine. Ketu in the 10th can make your work feel less meaningful than it used to. Don’t resign in a hurry. Ketu prepares a change of direction slowly, and the real shift usually comes later.
In the Jupiter window, Jupiter sits with Ketu in your 10th and looks at your 4th. If a career change or a property purchase is on your mind, that is when to decide. From June 2027, Saturn moves into your 7th house, aspecting your own sign and your 4th. Partnerships and home both need patience then, so finalise property papers before June if you can. Full Libra guide →
Scorpio (Vrishchik): Rahu in the 3rd, Ketu in the 9th
This is one of the best transits you could ask for. Rahu in the 3rd is among its strongest positions: courage, initiative, success in media, writing, sales and anything that requires you to put yourself forward. If an idea has been sitting in a drawer, take it out. Ketu in the 9th may shake your faith or create distance from a teacher or your father, and many of you will prefer quiet spiritual study to ritual.
Use the Jupiter window for pilgrimage, higher learning or a meaningful conversation with your father. From June 2027, Saturn moves into your 6th house, one of its best positions for you. Its gaze on your 3rd rewards sustained effort. For Scorpio, 2027 can be a genuinely strong year. Full Scorpio guide →
Sagittarius (Dhanu): Rahu in the 2nd, Ketu in the 8th
Rahu entering your 2nd house begins Rahu’s cycle over your Moon. Money, family and speech become charged, and Ketu in the 8th brings the unexpected. Realistically, the first months, with Saturn’s Kantak dhaiya still in your 4th, can feel like a lot at home. Guard your words in family matters and your savings from tempting offers.
But look at your Jupiter window. Your own sign lord, Jupiter, moves into your 8th house from January to June 2027 and sits right on top of Ketu, while looking at your 2nd. Your ruling planet will be standing guard over both houses this transit makes vulnerable. Use those months for health check-ups, insurance, family settlements and financial planning. Your Kantak dhaiya eases from June 2027. Full Sagittarius guide →
Capricorn (Makar): Rahu in the 1st, Ketu in the 7th
Capricorn, this transit is about you more than anyone. Rahu on your Moon is the peak of Rahu’s cycle, a slow eclipse of the mind. Ambition rises sharply, and many of you will reinvent yourselves: new career, new city, new image. Because the Moon also represents the public, this can bring real visibility. The cost is inside: sleep, peace of mind, and a tendency to overthink. Ketu in the 7th can make a partner feel distant even when nothing is wrong.
Your two windows could not be more different. From January to June 2027, Jupiter’s gaze falls directly on your Moon, and Jupiter sits with Ketu in your 7th. These are your clearest months. Make your big decisions then. From June to October 2027, Saturn, your own sign lord, enters your 4th house, beginning your Kantak dhaiya, and looks straight back at your Moon from there, debilitated. That is likely your most pressured stretch. Protect what you’ve built and don’t take on new commitments. The pressure returns from February 2028 until Rahu leaves.
Your nakshatra decides when Rahu crosses your Moon exactly. Those born in Dhanishta feel it in phase one, Shravana natives through most of 2027, and Uttarashadha natives in the first half of 2028. Full Capricorn guide →
Aquarius (Kumbh): Rahu in the 12th, Ketu in the 6th
Aquarius, the fog is lifting. Rahu has spent eighteen months on your Moon while Saturn’s Sade Sati was running. That double load is why so many of you have felt not only burdened but confused. Rahu now moves into your 12th house, the final phase of its cycle. Sleep improves, and your decisions start to feel like your own again. Expenses rise instead, but for those who want to go abroad, this phase actively helps.
Ketu in the 6th is a gift: opponents lose their grip, chronic complaints respond to treatment, disputes settle. In the Jupiter window, Jupiter joins Ketu in your 6th, so that is the time for health treatment and resolving legal matters. Your Sade Sati begins to lift when Saturn leaves Pisces in June 2027. By mid-2028, both cycles end within months of each other. Full Aquarius guide →
Pisces (Meen): Rahu in the 11th, Ketu in the 5th
Pisces, I’ve been waiting to give you good news. Rahu walks out of its cycle over your Moon and enters your 11th house, one of its best positions: income, influential contacts, help from friends and fulfilled desires. You are still at the peak of Saturn’s Sade Sati, so you may feel tired, but you’ll feel clearer. Ketu in the 5th may create some distance with children, or a loss of interest in old hobbies. If your children choose a path you don’t understand, let them.
In the Jupiter window, your own sign lord sits in your 5th with Ketu and looks at your 11th: excellent for children’s education and for gains. From June 2027, Saturn moves into your 2nd house, the last phase of your Sade Sati. Full Pisces guide →
Remedies that change with the phase
The classical remedies hold throughout: Maa Durga for Rahu, Lord Ganesha for Ketu. But since each phase is coloured by a different nakshatra lord, I also adjust the remedy as the transit moves.
Phase one (until about March 2027). Rahu sits in a Mars nakshatra, Ketu in a Mercury nakshatra. Read the Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays to channel the Mars energy into courage rather than conflict, and offer durva grass to Ganesha on Wednesdays.
Phase two (about March to December 2027). Rahu sits in the Moon’s nakshatra, so protect the mind. Offer water or milk on a Shivling every Monday, keep regular sleep, and stay away from alcohol. When Ketu moves into Saturn’s Pushya around August, serve the elderly and those who work with their hands.
Phase three (about December 2027 to June 2028). Rahu sits in the Sun’s nakshatra. Offer water to the rising Sun daily, and respect your father and elders. As Ketu reaches Jupiter’s Punarvasu, honour your teachers.
And please, don’t start wearing gomed or cat’s eye because a transit is underway. These stones amplify the nodes, and in the wrong chart they do real harm. A gemstone should be worn only after a proper look at your own horoscope.
Your map, in one line
If I had to compress these 18 months into a single piece of advice for every rashi, it would be this: move boldly but carefully in phase one, build in the Jupiter window, protect what you’ve built in the Saturn windows, and collect your reward in phase three.
This guide gives you the shape of the transit. Your own chart fills in the detail: where Rahu and Ketu sit in your horoscope, which of your planets they will cross and when, and how your current dasha changes everything above.
