Navratri 2026 Remedies for All 12 Rashis: What to Do Each Day

Every year, the week before Navratri, my phone starts ringing with the same question. “Guruji, what should I do this Navratri for my problem?” Some want a job. Some want their daughter’s marriage fixed. Some just want a little peace at home.

My answer always starts the same way. Navratri itself is the remedy. For nine nights the Goddess is closer to us than at any other time of the year. Whatever you do with sincerity in these days carries more weight, whether it’s a mantra, a fast, a small daan, or simply sitting quietly in front of her photo with a diya.

But over the years I’ve also learnt that people want something specific. Something for them. So here it is. Below is a simple day-by-day guide for the nine days, and then a remedy for each of the 12 rashis, based on the ruling planet of your Moon sign and on what the planets are doing to your sign this year.

One small thing before we begin. Use your Moon sign (rashi), not your Sun sign. If you don’t know it, it’s written in your kundli, or you can find it from your birth details on any reliable panchang site.

The nine days, one by one

In the tradition I follow, each form of Maa Durga is connected to one of the nine grahas. So each day of Navratri is also a chance to strengthen one planet in your chart. Here is how the days line up, along with the bhog traditionally offered.

Day Goddess Planet Bhog
1 Maa Shailputri Moon Pure desi ghee
2 Maa Brahmacharini Mars Mishri or sugar
3 Maa Chandraghanta Venus Kheer or milk sweets
4 Maa Kushmanda Sun Malpua
5 Maa Skandamata Mercury Bananas
6 Maa Katyayani Jupiter Honey
7 Maa Kalaratri Saturn Jaggery (gud)
8 Maa Mahagauri Rahu Coconut
9 Maa Siddhidatri Ketu Til (sesame) and halwa-chana

You’ll notice something. Every rashi has one day that belongs to its ruling planet. That day is your day. On it, do a little extra: wake early, light a ghee diya, offer that day’s bhog with your own hands, and chant the goddess’s mantra 108 times. The mantra follows a simple pattern: Om Devi Shailputryai Namah on day one, Om Devi Brahmacharinyai Namah on day two, and so on.

The other eight days, just do your normal puja with a clean heart. That’s enough.

Aries, Taurus and Gemini

Aries (Mesh)

Your day is Day 2, Maa Brahmacharini, because Mars rules your sign. Aries natives are in the first phase of Sade Sati right now, with Saturn in your 12th house. Many of you are feeling it as expenses that won’t stop and sleep that won’t come.

On Day 2, offer mishri and red flowers to the Mother and chant her mantra 108 times. I’d also ask you to take Day 7, Maa Kalaratri, seriously this year. Offer gud, light a mustard oil diya, and donate black til or a blanket to someone who needs it. Saturn will step into your own sign next June. A little humility now makes that much easier.

Taurus (Vrishabh)

Venus rules your sign, so Day 3, Maa Chandraghanta, is yours. Saturn is in your 11th house, which is quietly one of the better positions you could ask for. Effort put in now tends to pay. Rahu in your 10th, though, keeps career plans restless.

On Day 3, make kheer at home and offer it to the Mother, then share it with the family. Wear something white or cream. On Ashtami or Navami, when you do kanya pujan, give the girls a small cosmetic item or bangles along with the prasad. Venus loves beauty given generously.

Gemini (Mithun)

Mercury rules Gemini, so Day 5, Maa Skandamata, is your day. Saturn in your 10th house has made work heavy, and many Gemini clients tell me they feel unappreciated in the office. Hold on. This is Saturn building something solid under you.

On Day 5, offer bananas and green bangles or a green chunri. Chant Om Devi Skandamatayai Namah 108 times. Then do one thing I really believe in for Mercury: give notebooks, pens or books to children who can’t afford them. Mercury rewards learning shared.

Cancer, Leo and Virgo

Cancer (Kark)

The Moon rules your sign, so your day is the very first one, Maa Shailputri. You’ve had Jupiter exalted in your own sign since June, which is a real blessing. But Jupiter moves on at the end of October, and in December Ketu enters your sign. So this Navratri is the time to lock in what Jupiter gave you.

On Day 1, offer pure desi ghee to the Mother and light a ghee diya that burns through the evening. Wear white. And please, touch your mother’s feet that day, or call her if she’s far away. For Cancer, the Moon and the mother are the same blessing.

Leo (Simha)

The Sun rules Leo, so Day 4, Maa Kushmanda, is yours. Honestly, Leo has the busiest sky of anyone this year. Ketu is already in your sign, Saturn is in your 8th, which is the Ashtam Shani dhaiya, and Jupiter enters Leo on 31 October, just ten days after Navratri ends.

On Day 4, offer malpua and red or orange flowers. Every morning of Navratri, offer water to the rising Sun from a copper lota. Show your father or elders some extra respect this week. Jupiter’s arrival can lift a lot for you, but Saturn’s dhaiya asks you to stay humble while it does.

Virgo (Kanya)

Mercury rules Virgo, so like Gemini, your day is Day 5, Maa Skandamata. Saturn is in your 7th house, and I’ve seen this put pressure on marriages and business partnerships. Rahu in your 6th, on the other hand, helps you beat competition and clear old disputes.

On Day 5, offer bananas and a green chunri, and chant the mantra 108 times. If your marriage or a partnership feels strained, do one extra thing: on Day 3, offer kheer to Maa Chandraghanta together with your spouse or partner. Feeding green grass to a cow during these nine days is also a simple, very old Mercury remedy.

Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius

Libra (Tula)

Venus rules Libra, so Day 3, Maa Chandraghanta, is your day. Saturn in your 6th house is good for you. It helps you defeat opponents and finish pending work, though keep an eye on health. Rahu in your 5th has made decisions about children, love or investments feel cloudy. The good news is that Jupiter moves into your 11th house on 31 October, and that usually brings gains.

On Day 3, offer kheer, white flowers and a little attar (perfume) to the Mother. Wear white or light pink. Avoid any speculative investment until Navratri is over. Let the confusion settle first.

Scorpio (Vrishchik)

Mars rules Scorpio, so you share Day 2, Maa Brahmacharini, with Aries. Rahu in your 4th house has disturbed peace at home for many of you. Saturn in your 5th puts weight on children and studies. And Jupiter enters your 10th house at the end of October, which can open new doors at work.

On Day 2, offer mishri and red flowers and chant the mantra 108 times. Read the Durga Chalisa every evening of Navratri, with the whole family if you can. It helps calm a restless home. On a Tuesday, donate masoor dal to someone in need.

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

Jupiter rules your sign, so Day 6, Maa Katyayani, belongs to you. Saturn is in your 4th house, the Kantak Shani dhaiya, and that often shows up as tension at home, worry about your mother’s health, or property matters stuck. Then on 31 October Jupiter moves into your 9th house of luck, which is one of the best things to happen to Sagittarius this year.

On Day 6, offer honey and yellow flowers and wear yellow. Chant Om Devi Katyayanyai Namah 108 times. If you are unmarried and waiting for the right match, this day matters doubly. Maa Katyayani is the goddess young women have prayed to for a good spouse since the time of the gopis.

Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces

Capricorn (Makar)

Saturn rules your sign, so Day 7, Maa Kalaratri, is your day. Saturn in your 3rd house is actually a strength: courage, effort and short journeys tend to go well. But Rahu enters your own sign in early December, and for the next year and a half you’ll feel its hunger directly, in big ambitions and sudden changes.

On Day 7, offer gud and light a mustard oil diya after sunset. Then, because Rahu is coming to you, give Day 8 extra attention too. Offer a whole coconut to Maa Mahagauri. Durga worship is the oldest remedy we have for Rahu, and doing it just before Rahu arrives is wise.

Aquarius (Kumbh)

Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn, so Day 7 is yours. You are in the last phase of Sade Sati, and Rahu has been sitting in your own sign for over a year. I know many of you are tired. The good news: Rahu leaves your sign in December, and your Sade Sati starts lifting when Saturn moves into Aries next June, ending for good in early 2028. The light is close.

On Day 7, offer gud to Maa Kalaratri, chant her mantra 108 times, and donate black til or warm clothes. On Day 8, offer a coconut to Maa Mahagauri to calm Rahu. Don’t make big money decisions in a hurry these nine days.

Pisces (Meen)

Jupiter rules Pisces, so you share Day 6, Maa Katyayani, with Sagittarius. But I won’t hide it: Saturn is sitting in your own sign, the peak of your Sade Sati. Pisces clients often tell me they feel heavy, as if they’re working twice as hard for half the result.

On Day 6, offer honey and yellow flowers and chant the mantra 108 times. On Day 7, do the Kalaratri puja with gud and a mustard oil diya as well. And here is the remedy Saturn likes best: feed or help someone who works with their hands, a labourer, a sweeper, a rickshaw puller, without expecting even a thank you.

What matters more than any remedy

I’ve given you offerings, colours and mantras. Now let me tell you what I have actually seen work.

The remedy works when the heart is in it. A family that does a simple aarti together every evening, phones kept aside, gets more from Navratri than someone who spends thousands on a puja they don’t sit through. The Mother doesn’t count your coconuts.

Kanya pujan is not a formality. On Ashtami or Navami, when the little girls come home, treat them like the Goddess has walked in, because in our tradition she has. Wash their feet, feed them with love, send them home happy. I have seen this one act soften the hardest planetary periods.

If you fast, fast sensibly. If you have diabetes, blood pressure or any health condition, or you’re pregnant, speak to your doctor first. A fruit fast or a single-meal fast is completely valid. The Mother has never asked anyone to harm their body.

And finally, remember that a general rashi remedy is like a general medicine. It helps most people a little. Your own chart might need something quite different. Two people with the same rashi can be running completely different dashas.

Before you begin

This Navratri sits right at the edge of big changes. Jupiter leaves its exaltation and enters Leo ten days after Dussehra. Rahu and Ketu change signs in early December. Saturn prepares to enter Aries next year. Nine days of sincere prayer before all that is the best preparation I know.

If your problem is specific, a delayed marriage, a job that isn’t coming, a property deal that’s stuck, a general rashi remedy may not be enough. Ask me one question for ₹99 and I’ll look at your own chart and tell you which goddess, which day and which remedy will actually help you.

Want to know how Jupiter’s move into Leo will affect you personally? My Jupiter transit report for ₹501 covers it in detail, based on your birth chart.
