Rahu Ketu Transit 2026: What Changes for Your Rashi Until 2028
Every eighteen months or so, the same thing happens in my consultation room. Rahu and Ketu are about to change signs, and suddenly everyone wants to know one thing: “Guruji, is it good for me or bad for me?”
This time the change comes in early December. Rahu leaves Aquarius and enters Capricorn. Ketu leaves Leo and enters Cancer. They will stay on this axis until around June 2028.
You may see two dates online, 25 November and 5 December, and people get confused. Both are correct. They just come from two methods of calculating the nodes. The 25 November date uses the True Node. The 5 December date uses the Mean Node, which is what most traditional panchangs follow. Don’t lose sleep over the ten days. Rahu and Ketu move slowly, and their effects build gradually anyway.
What follows is what I expect for each of the 12 rashis over the next year and a half. Please read it for your Moon sign. If you know your lagna (ascendant), read that one too. Often the truest picture comes from combining both.
Work versus home: what this axis is really about
Rahu and Ketu always sit exactly opposite each other, so what matters is the pair of signs. This time it’s Capricorn and Cancer, and I find this one of the easiest axes to explain.
Capricorn is Saturn’s sign. It is about work, status, government, discipline and the long climb. Rahu here makes people hungry for position. Expect ambition, job changes, new businesses and a lot of restlessness about career. Rahu in a Saturn sign can give great results to those willing to work patiently. It punishes those looking for a shortcut.
Cancer is the Moon’s sign: home, mother, emotions, property, the feeling of belonging. Ketu is the planet of detachment. Wherever it sits, it slowly loosens your grip. Over these 18 months, many people will feel a pull between career ambition and the needs of family. Some will find home doesn’t feel like home in the same way.
The rest of the zodiac makes this transit more interesting. Jupiter returns to Cancer in late January 2027 and sits with Ketu until late June. That’s a deeply spiritual combination, but emotionally it can be heavy. And Saturn, the lord of Rahu’s new sign, moves into Aries in June 2027, where it is debilitated. When the landlord is weak, the tenant does as he pleases. So expect Rahu to be particularly bold in the second half of 2027.
Aries, Taurus and Gemini
Aries (Mesh): Rahu in the 10th, Ketu in the 4th
For your career, this is one of the strongest Rahu positions possible. The 10th house is your work and reputation, and Rahu here pushes you toward bigger roles, more visibility and an entirely new line of work. I’ve seen Aries natives get promoted twice in one Rahu transit through the 10th.
The price is paid at home. Ketu in the 4th can make you feel distant from family, or bring worries about your mother or a property matter. And remember, Saturn enters your own sign next June. So build your career, yes, but don’t neglect the people waiting for you in the evening.
Taurus (Vrishabh): Rahu in the 9th, Ketu in the 3rd
Rahu in the 9th makes you question everything you were taught: religion, your father’s views, your guru’s advice. Many Taurus natives will want to travel far, study something unusual, or change their spiritual path. That’s healthy, as long as you don’t throw away good guidance just to feel independent.
Ketu in the 3rd is actually a nice position. It gives quiet courage. You’ll stop needing everyone’s approval. There may be a little distance with siblings, nothing serious. Overall, a period of growth through new ideas.
Gemini (Mithun): Rahu in the 8th, Ketu in the 2nd
I won’t sugarcoat it, Gemini. Rahu in the 8th is the house of sudden events, and it asks for caution. Don’t take unnecessary risks with health, driving or money you can’t afford to lose. Read every contract carefully. On the positive side, the 8th also gives research ability, interest in occult subjects, and sometimes unexpected money through inheritance or insurance.
Ketu in the 2nd affects family and speech. Watch your words at home, because Ketu can make them sharper than you intend. Keep a close eye on savings and avoid lending money to relatives during this period.

Cancer, Leo and Virgo
Cancer (Kark): Ketu in the 1st, Rahu in the 7th
Cancer, this transit is the most personal for you, because Ketu sits right on your Moon. Some days you may not recognise yourself. Old interests fade, and you’ll ask, “What do I actually want?” Many people with Ketu over the Moon also notice small health issues that doctors can’t quite pin down. Look after your sleep and digestion.
Rahu in the 7th brings focus onto marriage and partnerships. Single Cancerians may be drawn to someone from a very different background. Married ones should guard against misunderstandings and outside interference. The blessing is that Jupiter joins Ketu in your sign from late January to late June 2027. That’s a protective, deeply spiritual phase.
Leo (Simha): Rahu in the 6th, Ketu in the 12th
Leo, breathe out. Ketu has spent the last year and a half sitting on your Moon, and many of you felt lost and unseen. That ends now. Rahu in the 6th is one of its best positions. It helps you defeat competitors, win disputes, clear debts and improve health through discipline.
Ketu in the 12th turns you inward, toward meditation, pilgrimage and maybe foreign travel. Expenses can rise, so plan for them. Add Jupiter entering your sign on 31 October, and the next year looks far brighter than the last. Saturn’s dhaiya begins to ease when it moves into Aries next June. Until then, stay patient.
Virgo (Kanya): Rahu in the 5th, Ketu in the 11th
Rahu in the 5th touches children, romance, studies and speculation. It can bring an intense love affair, a child who goes their own way, or a strong urge to trade in the markets. Of these, the markets worry me most. Rahu in the 5th makes speculative wins look easy right up until they aren’t.
Ketu in the 11th is generally good. Gains come, but quietly, often from unexpected sources. You may lose interest in certain friend circles or social groups. Don’t worry about it. Ketu is just clearing out what you’ve outgrown.
Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius
Libra (Tula): Rahu in the 4th, Ketu in the 10th
Libra, your home life is where Rahu settles. You may want a bigger house, a new car, or simply to move cities. Some of you will. But Rahu in the 4th can also make you restless even in a perfectly good home, and that restlessness can rub off on the family. Before buying property, check the papers twice.
Ketu in the 10th can make you feel detached from your work, as if the job no longer means what it used to. Don’t quit in a hurry. Ketu often prepares a change of direction slowly, and the real shift comes later. Jupiter moving through your 11th house for long stretches of this period will help keep income steady.
Scorpio (Vrishchik): Rahu in the 3rd, Ketu in the 9th
Scorpio, this is a good one for you. Rahu in the 3rd house is among its happiest positions. It gives courage, a strong voice, success in media, sales, writing and anything that needs initiative. If you’ve been sitting on an idea, this is the time to take it out.
Ketu in the 9th may shake your faith a little, or create some distance from your father or a teacher. Many Scorpios will be drawn to pilgrimage or quiet spiritual study instead of ritual. Saturn in your 5th until next June still asks for patience with children and studies.
Sagittarius (Dhanu): Rahu in the 2nd, Ketu in the 8th
Rahu in the 2nd brings a strong desire to earn and save. That’s good, as long as it doesn’t become greed. Be careful with your words at home and with food habits, both of which Rahu in the 2nd can disturb. Avoid get-rich-quick offers, however convincing the person seems.
Ketu in the 8th takes you inward, into research, astrology, the occult, deep questions about life and death. Be careful with health and driving. The bright side: Jupiter in your 9th house of luck for long stretches of this period, and Saturn’s Kantak dhaiya starting to ease from next June.
Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces
Capricorn (Makar): Rahu in the 1st, Ketu in the 7th
Capricorn, Rahu is coming to sit on your Moon, and you will feel it. Ambition rises sharply. You’ll want to be seen, to be more, to change your image. Many Capricorns will reinvent themselves in these 18 months: a new career, a new city, even a new look. Rahu over the Moon can also bring anxiety and overthinking, so protect your sleep.
Ketu in the 7th can create distance in marriage or partnerships. It’s not necessarily a separation. More often, one partner simply feels the other isn’t fully present. Make time for each other deliberately. From June 2027, Saturn’s Kantak dhaiya begins for you too, so build steady habits now.
Aquarius (Kumbh): Rahu in the 12th, Ketu in the 6th
Aquarius, Rahu has been sitting on your Moon for a year and a half, and it’s finally moving out. Most of you will feel the fog lift. Rahu now goes to your 12th house: foreign travel, foreign settlement, spiritual retreats, and yes, higher expenses. If you’ve wanted to go abroad, this transit supports it.
Ketu in the 6th is excellent. Old enemies lose power, long illnesses can finally improve, and pending court matters may settle. Combined with Sade Sati beginning to ease next June, this is the start of your recovery.

Pisces (Meen): Rahu in the 11th, Ketu in the 5th
Pisces, I’ve been waiting to give you good news. Rahu in the 11th house is one of the best placements of all. Income, networks, influential contacts and fulfilled desires. Many of you are deep in Sade Sati and exhausted. This Rahu brings real relief, often through friends or elder siblings.
Ketu in the 5th can create some distance with children, or a loss of interest in studies or romance. Your children may want to follow a path you don’t understand. Let them. When Saturn moves into Aries next June, your Sade Sati enters its last phase.
Simple remedies for everyone
Whichever rashi you are, a few practices help with Rahu and Ketu almost universally. I’ve given these to clients for decades, and they’re simple enough for anyone.
For Rahu, worship Maa Durga. Read the Durga Chalisa or a few verses of the Durga Saptashati regularly, especially on Saturdays. Chanting Om Bhram Bhreem Bhroum Sah Rahave Namah 108 times on Saturdays also helps steady a restless mind.
For Ketu, Lord Ganesha is the remedy. Offer durva grass on Wednesdays or chant Om Gan Ganapataye Namah. Feeding stray dogs is a traditional remedy for both nodes, and I’ve always liked it because it costs little and asks for kindness.
Above everything, keep your life clean and honest during these 18 months. Rahu magnifies whatever you feed it. Feed it hard work, and it gives you growth. Feed it shortcuts and lies, and it gives you scandal.
One caution I repeat to everyone: please don’t start wearing gomed or cat’s eye because an article mentioned them. These stones can make a badly placed Rahu or Ketu much worse. A gemstone should only be worn after a proper look at your own chart.
Your rashi is only the beginning
Everything above is based on your Moon sign. It’s a good starting point, but it’s only one layer. How this transit actually plays out depends on where Rahu and Ketu sit in your birth chart, which dasha you’re running, and whether the transit touches any sensitive planets of yours. Two Leos can live through these 18 months very differently.
